ABOUT SHIVANI

Hi, I’m Shivani!

I’m an actor/singer/dancer and above all, storyteller, based in NYC/NJ.

I began my performing journey at 3 years old dancing nonstop to Bollywood songs in my living room. I soon became fascinated by not only the moves, but the music itself and the artistic portrayal of emotion involved in every project. I found my way to classical Kathak dancing, acting, and singing shortly after!

As a college student pursuing my degree in Economics at Princeton University, I dedicate myself to creating art and emotion through the intersection of academia and performance to portray stories about which I am passionate. On campus, I love performing as a member of the Fuzzy Dice improv group and DiSiac dance company.

I am excited to co-create/co-choreograph my first dance concept video for DiSiac dance company, integrating the dance styles of Hip Hop, Kathak, Bollywood, and Jazz.

My favorite roles include those that promote diversity and inclusion in the media. It was an honor to model for a Bed Bath and Beyond national print advertisement campaign featuring a South Asian family. I am also grateful to have voiced “Princess Devika” and “Princess Avani” on Disney Junior’s Mira, Royal Detective, featuring an all-South Asian cast.

When I’m not on stage, you can typically find me dancing in an NYC workshop (love my South Asian NYC dance fam!), writing an essay about my favorite show at 2 AM (this happens too many times to count), watching entirely too much SNL in one sitting, or searching for my new favorite cafe that “just has those vibes!”
